A marked Huret dress of 1855-1860 was the inspiration for this printed cotton, a pattern we call “Bluebird of Happiness.” Featuring graceful birds alighting on delicate, flowering vines, we have fashioned a unique, medium weight fabric in a glorious shade of blue on a white background. The cotton is truly a dream to sew with, and lends itself beautifully to gathering and pleating. Made into a little enfantine-style day dress with puffed sleeves, the costume would look superb on your Huret or Rohmer doll.
