Vintage The Spirit of the Flowers Paper Doll Set by John Darcy Noble Circa 1983
From our archives, we are pleased to offer the original, full sized version of “The Spirit of the Flowers” paper doll set created in 1983 by the famed artist and doll and toy historian John Darcy Noble (1923-2003).
Inspired by a love of Victorian paper dolls, the ethos of the 1820’s, and the illustrations of Jean Ignace Grandville’s 1847 work, Les Fleurs Animees, thisset, features Noble’s original artwork. Included is a graceful, nymph like figure with six, two sided costumes representing a poppy, fuchsia, tulip, morning glory, rose and carnation.
Housed in decorative box, the paper doll and costumes are printed on card stock sheets for you to cut out and assemble yourself. A set of helpful instructions is included. In unused vintage condition with minor wear and foxing to boxes and instructions.
