As an exclusive for the Carmel Doll Shop Boutique, Jeffrey Cook of Maison Jeffrey has created a period accurate 1840’s costume for “Adelina,” Carl Armstrong’s exclusive KPM reproduction china lady. Created from plaid, silk taffeta in shades of fawn brown, cream, green and orange, this two-piece costume features a fitted bodice, long fitted sleeves with a bell cuff detail at the elbow, and a wonderfully full, pleated skirt. The wide collar and sleeves are embellished with fringe and narrow, fawn brown ribbon. Adelina wears a bonnet composed of brown polished cotton, and embellished with a length of fringed plaid, plaid trim and brown velvet ribbons . The bonnet is lined with a pale nectarine hued, quilted silk that will bring a smile to your face as well as Adelina’s!
