We are pleased to offer an expertly pre-sewn sample of the popular “Cadeau” costume designed as an exclusive for the Carmel Doll Shop Boutique, by Jeffrey Cook of Maison Jeffrey. “Cadeau” is a charming, period accurate ensemble for “Bébé Angélique” - the lovely François Gaultier bébé created exclusively for us by the esteemed Australian doll artist, Karen Clohessy. Inspired by classic bébé costumes of the 1880’s, this ensemble has our little Angélique wrapped up like a present, or Cadeau in French. Perfect for a stunning holiday look or a year round Robe de Visite (visiting dress), the below the knee length, drop-waist dress is comprised of rich, burgandy silk taffeta, and features a ruched cream silk plastron and a gorgeous, oversized sash. Lavished with guimpe trim, satin and jacquard ribbons and frothy lace this costume is sure to make Angélique smile. A wired bonnet in silk velvet with a ruched brim of silk taffeta and silk chiffon, completes the presentation.
