*Pattern Only* "Basset Hall" Ensemble

$28.00

We are delighted to offer a “Pattern & Instructions Only” version of "Basset Hall" a now discontinued kit, originally designed for our Georgian Wooden dolls Belinda Noble and Dido Washington. No fabric, notions or accessories are provided, but we trust that our doll sewists will acquire all the bits and bobs to make their own version of this ensemble.

A young lady of means in the early to mid-18th century would wear a costume consisting of a petticoat, gown and a hat or head covering. This ensemble features a fitted bodice with a delicately seamed back, squared “court” style skirt, and fitted elbow length sleeves with a flounced cuff. The petticoat matches the squared court shape of the gown, while the stomacher is sewn of multiple layers of linen creating a firm texture, and designed to be overlaid with fabric.

Originally offered in an embroidered linen, this pattern is also suited to cotton, silk and lightweight wool with trims such as linen soutache braid, crocheted lace and silk ribbon. Please see our “Fabric” and “Trim” sections for a variety of sumptuous materials perfect for this ensemble. This ensemble calls for two yards of your choice of fabric, six yards of trim, and two yards of lace.

*Hat form not included.
