Through a carriage window, a young lady with luminous black eyes and a wistful expression sees the graceful structure of Mount Vernon come into view. As she is handed down from the carriage, the flickering lantern light sets the silver spangles on her gown aglow like stars…

This stunning ensemble, created for our exclusive Georgian Wooden dolls, “Belinda Noble” and “Dido Washington,” is comprised of fine cotton in a rich cocoa brown hue and embellished with metallic embroidery and sequins in a floral motif. The fitted bodice features a delicately seamed back, and a squared “court” style skirt, edged in ruffles. The elbow length sleeves terminate in a flounced cuff lined in crocheted lace and embellished with floral embroidered ribbon. A full petticoat matches the squared court shape of the gown and features a cascade of tiered ruffles down the front. Sewn with multiple layers of fabric, creating a firm texture, the stomacher is overlaid with cream silk and metallic floral motif details.

Included are Belinda’s dainty heeled slippers-perfect for her favorite pastime, dancing. Crafted by our in-house artisans, they are rendered in cocoa brown leather with a light patent finish and a sweetly embellished toe. Also included are a pair of stockings in a pale shade of taupe.

For your sewing pleasure, we have created a complete kit which includes everything needed to create the ensemble: a paper pattern, full instructions with helpful tips and historic details, and expertly curated materials.
