Please allow us to introduce “Lady Noble” our long-awaited William and Mary style artisan doll expertly crafted and painted by the esteemed doll artist, Karen Clohessy, of Perth, Western Australia. The mold used to create this lady was taken from an actual antique wooden example doll from the Grovian Doll Museum Collection. Her ladyship is cast in a high-quality resin that captures all of the nuances of the carved wood of the original doll. Her face features beautiful modeling and painting, and expressive painted-brown eyes, framed by delicately arched, stippled brows.
Each wig, of natural flax, was handmade by Michael Canadas and crafted with the styling details that are hallmarks of period hairstyles. (Each wig is unique, non-removable, and will present variations in style.)
Lady Noble’s body features a head and torso as one, and true to an original doll of this era, her body features jointed upper legs and knees, and his stuffed cotton upper arms attach to the shoulders and terminate in “carved,” graceful, forked hands.
Doll measures: 16” tall (not including height of wig.)
