Pre-made Sample Costume: "Gallant Conversation" Ensemble

$395.00

We are delighted to offer an expertly sewn sample of our 1760’s George II men’s costume, entitled "Gallant Conversation" created for our exclusive Georgian Wooden artist male dolls “William Noble” and “Luther Washington.”

This striking ensemble captures the dramatic silhouettes and extraordinary textiles of Colonial-era menswear. Rendered in a fine, gray silk jacquard with a floral motif in violet and aqua, the ensemble features a fitted, long-waisted frock coat with a high mandarin collar, a lavishly pleated split back peplum, gray cotton braid, and an integrated waistcoat trimmed in gray picot-edged soutache and fabric covered buttons. The fitted sleeves terminate in an oversized cuff with a crocheted lace lining. A crocheted lace cravat and a black velvet ribbon are worn at the neck. The matching breeches feature picot-edged soutache down the leg, a button detail at the cuff and a drawstring waist. An bi-corn hat covered in black silk taffeta and embellished with braided trim, black velvet ribbon rosettes and soft, dove gray feathers completes the presentation. Black cotton stockings and handmade black leather shoes with a braid embellished toe are included.
Sample ensemble only - male doll is sold separately.
