Archery was a popular women’s sport in the 19th Century, and Queen Victoria herself was an avid participant. While no uniform was required, the wardrobe of a well dressed lady was incomplete without the perfect archery costume. Designed by beloved doll couturier Sheryl Williams, this ensemble is based on the classic archery attire of the Victorian era and will give your doll a winning look for her next competition! An array of beautifully made and expertly curated accessories are included.

The lavish and beautifully tailored two-piece costume is rendered in plaid silk taffeta in a palette of green, cream and soft coral, and features a top with a high collar, peplum style back and long sleeves with a bell cuff. Frothy, cream lace accents adorn cuffs, collar and placket. A stick pin with glass and gold beads is nestled into the lace embellished placket. The full skirt features an overlay with a bustle style back and a gracefully curved front, while the ruffled hem is edged with a row of tucks. Materials and instructions are provided for a jaunty, bicorn hat comprised of black felt and trimmed with black velvet, pink ribbon and a striking black feather. Created for our artist made “Eugénie” doll, this ensemble would also be well suited for antique and modern kid and resin body dolls measuring approximately 14 1/2” tall.

Materials and instructions for a hair snood of fine black net. The snood component was created by Jeffrey Cook of Maison Jeffrey.

Wooden archery target, vividly colorful and finely finished, it stands approximately 10” tall. The target was beautifully created by the talented Carol Donaldson.

Archery set created by Sheryl Williams. The set includes a gracefully arched wooden bow and an archery belt of faux black leather that holds a quiver complete with three arrows, screw top wooden prize purse with gold tone coin, pencil and miniature wooden target. Housed in a decorative box. Bow measures: 9 1/4” Long.

Pair of ankle high black leather boots with patent finish and pair of stockings in fine black cotton. The boots feature a leather sole, silver button and ribbon embellished buckle at toe. Housed in a decorative box. Boots measure: 2 1/8” long, 3/4” wide at toe, 5/8” wide at heel.

The pattern and materials are available for your sewing pleasure in a complete kit which includes a paper pattern with full instructions and all of the materials needed to create the ensemble. This user friendly kit offers helpful, step by step instructions on stitches and techniques, as well as beautifully curated materials.
