Eugénie Dehors - "Rue Bonaparte" Ensemble Kit
As much as Eugénie glows in jewel toned ballgowns, by the light of day she is as fresh as a daisy and off to a day of visiting and strolling on the leafy streets of Paris, and she won’t be outdone when it comes to daywear…
Designed by Michael Canadas, the stunning “Rue Bonaparte” gown is a classic promenade costume comprised of plaid silk taffeta in a palette of celadon green, rich brown and cream. This dreamy plaid is a Carmel Doll Shop Boutique exclusive recreated from an 1860’s textile in our archives.
The fitted bodice is embellished with narrow, black velvet ribbon and black silk covered buttons and ruched panels at the shoulders. The elbow length sleeves feature an open bell cuff trimmed in black velvet, lace and a silk button. The voluminous and beautifully tailored skirt is comprised of tiered layers of ruffles, while the back is adorned with an oversized bow with rounded edges trimmed in black velvet ribbon. An elegant, matching spoon bonnet frames Eugénie’s face and is trimmed in delicate millinery flowers and a cluster of fine velvet ribbon at the chin.
*To achieve the full skirt as pictured, you may use our pre-made undergarment set (which includes a hoop skirt.) The set can be found in the “Accessories” section of the Boutique entitled: Huret Undergarments - Four Piece Set
For your sewing pleasure, we have created a kit that includes a paper pattern, beautifully curated materials and notions to create the ensemble pictured. Helpful step by step instructions with information on stitches and techniques are also included.
